This horn has a very strong and compact sound, slightly brighter and more focused than 5 digit tenors. This thing plays good. I'm also loving the naturally worn finish. All older pads are used but in good playing condition, pads, springs, keys, and all corks are in good shape, it needs nothing, the pads are seated fine, it blows with a nice sound from the low Bb right up to the high F.

Here is a rare beast a very nice Mkvi alto which had been pampered by its previous owner who in 2006 had the horn gold and silver plated..whilst i realise this could be sacreligious to many….it does make for a sax with great longevity,as now its getting on 20 years since the work was done and it still looks like very recent work. Invoices supplied from Eddie Aston and Hanson (both T’up North) So there you have it a great alto with no issues the restoration work is exemplary! Year: 1978 Serial Number: 289152 Mint condition. and they also have a tone to match. The Mark VI sopranos have a sound world all of their own and this fine example is no different. Intonation is excellent all the way through the horn and the highest notes retain plenty of body, whilst the tone at the bottom is dark and warm.
