The DVI-D plug has pins for dual link with 24+1 pins, but the cable is most likely wired as a single link, I haven't used it with a monitor greater than 1920 x 1200 to see if it will handle resolutions greater than this, and I can't try it out as I do not have a monitor with a higher resolution.
