Do not use any acid on steel wheels, this will cause problems with the paint in the future. This will depend on where you live. When modifying 4x4's eg fitting larger tyres, bigger lifts etc this can cause more strain on the standard components, which they were not designed for so more wear and tear / breakages can happen.
