Antike javanische Loro Blonyo indonesische Ehestatuen aus Holz, Unikat

Beautiful pair of antique traditional rustic wedding Loro Blonyo statues from Indonesia. Carved from wood with a painted finish. I am not aware what type of wood this is, but it is possibly teak. The statues symbolise a bride and groom or 'Inseparable Couple' in traditional matrimonial garments. They are said to be a symbol of fertility and prosperity. Statues like this have existed since 17th Century. Age of these particular statues is unknown. They do show age to the patina - small marks and chips or cracks to the paint. However for their age they are in remarkable condition. Measure approximately 16.5cm tall. Please check photos carefully.
