The lid is decorated with a gilded image of a rat bordered by leaf motifs all on a turquoise coloured ground(see pic.2). The sides are similarly decorated(see pic.3). To the underside of the lid is a list of supposed traits associated with people born in this year(see pic.5) and to the inner base is a list of the relevant years(see pic.6).
