The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien "El Hobito" Rare 1964 1st Spanish Edition

This is a copy of the first and controversial translation of Tolkien into Spanish, by Fabril Editora in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1964. Without the prestige and reputation that the author has in these times, the translator, Teresa Sanchez Cueva, took liberties to translate names of creatures and characters betraying the intention of the philologist, who protested directly with the editor for these bad decisions. It was not a sales success, and the copy was never reprinted, even the publisher, who had bought the rights to publish the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, gave them up to be published much later by other publisher. Very rare to find copy. Fair condition, good in general, marks on coated on cover and back cover.
