A nice small jewellery, possibly watch box as described and seen in the photographs. Inside the box bears bears a Goldsmiths mark: Searle & Co Goldsmiths 78&79 Lombard St London EC. It appears to be a nice red leather (or a good faux leather) with a plush fabric interior.
