A complete copper alloy Dagger Chape of Medieval date (AD 1350-1500). The object is composed of a folded sheet creating a cylindrical form with a gap between the two ends running longitudinally. The object is decorated with three groups of three transverse lines evenly spaced along the front of the object. Within the sheet the tip of an iron blade is retained. Length: 59.29mm, Width: 8.32mm, Thickness: 6.44mm, Weight: 8.4g The metal is light green in colour with a slightly pitted patina.
