This is a set of four mugs made for Batchelors Cup-a-Soup as promotional items, marked 'Staffordshire Potteries LTD' and dated August 1976 on the base. They are decorated with a fabulously retro (almost Sgt Pepper style psychedelic) design of chefs making soup in a kitchen. Measuring just over 9cm tall all 4 appear to be unused - 3 are in brand-new condition, while one mug has 2 tiny adjacent rim frits. This is a rare design, with almost no others for sale.
