This remarkable clock is so rare that I have never seen another! Twin fusee miniature clocks are pretty rare but what elevates this example into a whole different echelon is the tiny mechanism! As you will see in my pictures the twin chain fusee movement is not unlike any other of the early 1800 period until I tell you that it weighs only 730g, has a backplate 102mm x 82mm and between the plates a miniscule 21mm. The fusee chains are of a similar grade to those found on pocket watches! The clock is in working order and strikes the number of hours on the hour upon the top mounted bell. I removed the brass dial ring from the case as it interfered with the strike, it accompanies the clock for the buyer to refit properly. The mahogany case is in pretty reasonable condition though there is slight loss and evidence of some repair to veneer.
