This interesting storage box, with its chip-carved geometric pattern was likely made somewhere in Asia, possibly India or Indonesia, in the mid to late 20th century. It has been artisan crafted from wood with some metal details, rivets, hinges and a metal handle on the lid. There is a loop and clasp lock, this must have something through for it to be carried. It is 41cm in height by 12cm on each side. I'm afraid I do not know exactly what wood it is made from. A charming, decorative, traditional and rustic storage container which would look good on display or as a presentation box. Please note: The item was photographed in the garden for better lighting but it has not been stored outside and is not intended to be kept outside. Many thanks.
