So close to greatness...

I loved the first few levels of this game. The part I loved most was that there was so much to do on each level that had nothing to do with meeting the mission goals.
On one level for example, I ran up some stairs to a metro station and ended up stopping a mugging. The reward was a grenade which was pretty cool.
But there are significant flaws to the game that unfortunately made me end up stop playing it.
The most fatal problem is that you can't save games midway through a level. This is a really big problem on the levels that involve difficult instant death situations. One level took me 8 tries, which meant repeating the same boring preliminary steps 8 times in order to get to the hard part of the level and try out a new method of solving the puzzle.
Also stupid is the fact that your inventory is reset at the end of every level. This means that exploring around a level to get lots of cool pick-ups is actually pointless because you won't have that stuff in the next level.
If the game designer could provide unlimited saves and a constant inventory, then I would recommend this game like there is no tommorrow, but until then, the game is basically unplayable for my taste.
