I Giant Setback for Wrestling Games Everywhere

Fazit: I do not recommend this game to anyone at all cause this game is a true dissapointment to the wrestling genre.
Ok Folks I am what you would call a mega Pro Wrestling geek I live breathe sweat and bleed the wrestling business and have been since i was 4 although I have been actually wrestling since 14 and I also own every major wrestling games released in the US dating back to Pro Wrestling for NES so I fancy myself a wrestling game expert and I gotta say TNA Impact Is one of the worst Wrestling games I have ever played. It hurts me to say this especially since I love their tv show so much more than WWE's. But this game is so bad It makes me have flashbacks to the crappy WCW games like Mayhem and Backstage assaults. Now I'm going to give you some reasons not to buy this game.
First of all the Gameplay Mechanics really suck all the wretlers basically have the same movesets exept the finishers and the fact that some can do springboard attacks and some can't. You can't reverse Kicks and Punches which is rediculous in this day and age of wrestling games. There are a lot of glitches as well like falling through the ring then getting trapped.
Next is the Match types. There are so few match types available its sad here are the match Types available. Standard(one on one), Tag Team, Free for all(Triple Threat) Submission, Submission Tag, Fall Count Anywhere, (Standard and Tag), Ultimate X, And Ultimate X Free For all. That's it the most you can have in a Ultimate X match here is 3 but in most TNA ultimate X matches there are at least 6. They left out a lot of their signature matches like Six Sides of Steel, Lethal Lockdown,(Their version of the old Wargames Matches.) and The King Of The Mountain Match.
Then there is the Roster which is mostly made up of a few actual TNA wrestlers but not many and the rest of them are fictional characters created for the crappy story mode(I will adress Story mode later). Here are the TNA wrestlers on the game.AJ Styles, Samoa Joe,Kurt Angle,Sting, Christian Cage,Booker T,Homicide, Hernandez, Rhino, Shark Boy, Robert Roode, James Storm,Scott Steiner, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, Team 3D, Abyss, Kevin Nash, Sonjay Dutt, Jeff Jarrett, Black Machismo Jay Lethal Eric Young, Christopher Daniels,Tomko, and Senshi, there were so many guys left out of the game, Hell Senshi left TNA months before this game came out, But still TNA regulars like Petey Williams, Kip James, BG James, and a slew of others were left off .
The graphics are very dated even for PS2 standards they remind me again of WCW Mayhem and WWF Warzone and trust me folks thats not a good thing.
The Story mode is also a joke it centers around one guy a fictional wrestler called Suicide and his struggle to regain his memory and the TNA world title the only thing I can say good about the suicide character is TNA plans on bringing that character to life and I happen to be friends with the guy who is gonna portray him.
There are also a lot of feautures not included in this game that should be standard in wrestling games by now like you can't win and defend belts in exhibition mode, no create a character mode, no creating stables either, That's just sloppy work on TNA and on Midway's part.
The voiceovers and commentary is also extremely repetative even worse than WWE. which is really saying something.
Well folks that does it for this review not only do I not recommend you buy this game I believe this sets back the genre about ten years.I just hope and pray the Smackdown Vs. Raw 2009 makes up for the crappiness of the TNA game.
