Fazit: Love this machine and the T-disc pods. So easy to use and with all the different coffee varieties it will turn you into a barista!
Easy to use and great taste - especially the espresso and cappuccino varieties. The new Starbucks coffees are a great addition as well.
We own two machines: we like the more expensive 1400 model way better than the cheaper 1200 model. Spend the extra $20-$30 and get the 1400. We bought ours directly from Tassimo.com and rec'd 2 complimentary bags of coffee and a travel mug. The 1200 we bought at Amazon.com and it has not worked as well as the 1400. The Tassimo customer service people are great and sent me replacement coffee discs and also a box to return the 1200 machine. Note: Tassimo makes the coffee/T-discs and the machine is made for Tassimo by Braun. They are two separate companies.
What is comes down to is that machine and its T-discs method makes for great coffee. Our first experience with coffee pods was with the Phillips Senseo and its line of coffees and teas. Once you taste the Tassimo coffees you'll discover there is no comparison and we quickly switched over.
We have not seen the T-discs in many stores so we order the coffee directly from Tassimo.com on a monthly basis. You can also order the coffee from Amazon.
Our one concern is a green/recycling issue - these T-discs are plastic and in order to recycle after use you have to cut the foil from the T-discs and remove the used coffee which is a bit of a pain. At some point Tassimo should figure out a way to make the T-discs easier to recycle.
