This game brought the action of Pokemon battles to the television with fun 3D graphics. For the time it was made at least the graphics were quite well done. The main part of the game is playing in the battledome in Pokemon battles. There is a tournament mode and you try to battle against trainers to win different cups. You can use rental Pokemon or transfer Pokemon from Gold and Silver Pokemon Games using a transfer pack that hooks into the back of a Nintendo 64 controller. The game also has a fun training mode in which you play against trainers and win trying to choose the right combination of 3 of the 6 given Pokemon that gives you the best advantage against the type of Pokemon the trainer uses. The game can be multiplayer with you playing Pokemon battles against each other.
My favorite mode is the mini games. In the mini games you can play multiplayer trying to be the first to be the champion. One of the mini games you press A to count the Pokemon as they slowly or quickly move across the screen. Another mini game features you trying to catch eggs using Chansey and moving left and right with the L and R buttons. All the mini games are relatively simplistic to play, but still offer a lot of fun, especially when playing with friends or family.
