Good for a little kid...

Fazit: If you have kids in the house, then its great for them. Its also great for casual gamers who just want to do some light playing every week or so.
The DS is a groundbreakng poratable. Nobody could have predicted the dual screen layout. At first, it seems gimmicky, but it actually works very well. The touch screen opens up millions more possibilities for games. It allows you to really get into and interact with the game. It also allows for a very good control scheme, as seen in Metroid Prime: Hunters. Despite it's massive potential, it currently has almost nothing to offer for real hardcore gamers. Every game that comes out for it is either a boring puzzle game, a horrible attempt at a console port, or a very childish casual game. I own about 10 games for this thing, and so far not a single one has come out in the past year that I have even been remotely interested in. Its a shame because the system itself has so much potential, especially for shooter games. There is only one good shooter game availible for the DS. Games aside, this thing has more external features than any other poratable. Touch screen, microphone, wireless, two screens, GBA comaptibility, the list goes on. However, it is very hard for developers to utilize ALL of these features effectively. Usually one feature will be great, then another will be left completely unused.
