Got me away from film
Bewertet am: Nov 25, 2007
Fazit: Good camera for anyone moving up from the pocket cameras. Remember all the megapixels in the world don't do you any good with out good optics.Canon has great lenses.
My first digital camera. Shoot with Canaon AEs until now. Have borrowed a few digitals to try but never quite happy. The EOS 30 shown to me last year by a photographer in Wales. The start up time was much faster than the Cool Pix I had borrowed.
Got home and picked up an EOS 30 with short and mid range zoom lenses. Haven't bought a roll of film since. Would love to have the newest EOS 1, but at nearly 8 grand that will have to wait.
Batteries last forever on a charge. Took the EOS 30 to the U.K. this year and worked it for days at a time on one charge. Also the battery charger accepts the 220 volt U.K. electric service, no need for a voltage converter.
Shoot running trains in Wales, planes inside poorly lit museums, and birds on the wing in Scotland. All turned out very well.
Start up time from rest mode is very fast. Very important for those grab shots, I'd missed some waiting for the Cool Pix to get ready, the year before.
Great camera for the money, maybe a bit high priced for the casual photographer, but to anyone that shoots a lot, it's perfect.
