Best Camera I've Ever Used

Fazit: Fantastic pictures & lots of options, but high price and heavy.
Purchased our Canon EOS 40D Digital Camera with the 17-85 lens for my real estate business and to take pictures of our children's sports and activities. Both my husband and I use this camera. He is more camera savvy then I, and has read the instruction manual.
There are alot of features available on this camera that make it a good choice for our needs. The 3" screen is great for those 40+ and have a hard time viewing those tiny screens that so many cameras have. I am not as interested in all the options as my husband is when he takes photos of the sporting events. But, he has shown me a few of the ones that help me when taking professional quality photos for my real estate business.
We purchased the 17-85mm lens with the camera for my real estate business earlier this year. It helps me to take pictures of homes that look good on the computer screen as well as fliers. They are bright and show lots of detail. You can take photographs inside a home without seeing the outdoors through the windows. The 17-85 allows me to take a picture of the whole room without the fish eye effect. The auto-focus is very easy to use. The auto-flash settings are significant and allow for all types of situations.
The camera is versatile. We also use this camera with a telephoto lense for pics of the children playing sports. It's great that you can snap so many shots, so quickly with this camera. We have been able to capture some wonderful facial expressions of the children at their games.
The camera is a little on the heavy and awkward side because of its size. I do not recommend this for light hearted photography.
The software that comes with the Canon cameras is o.k. Downloading the files from the camera onto the computer is a snap. I use the .jpg format, but you are also give the option to download the photos in .raw format.
